I have always told you that one of my favorites things to do en el mundo mundial is to eat and drink (it runs in my family) because I am, and forever will be unfortunately, a #foreveregordita. To be honest, I thought I was a foodie until I started visiting Chicago frequently to visit my boyfriend.
I have discovered (with great sadness), that even though my little town of Boca Raton has many great things, food its not one of those.
However, if you are going to visit Chicago soon, here is the list of the must eat restaurants so far:
Blue door kitchen: One of my favorite places to have brunch. I love the decor of this tiny house, with a blue door and modern yet class old decor. I can’t wait to go during the summer and see how it looks outside.
Hugo’s frog Bar and Fish House: One of the best restaurants to eat seafood since it receives daily. It is Chicago’s favorite spot for fresh oysters, crudos, frog legs, lobster and fish, plus USDA Gibsons Prime Angus steaks and chops.
Cyindys: Located in the Rooftop of the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, Cindys has a beautiful view of the city, great food, and a beachy fresh ambiance with long tables and sofas all around the room.
Terrace 16 at trump tower: Located at the 16 floor of the Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago, Terrace 16 offers an ever changing American menu and an indoor bar and dining room. However, what makes this restaurant special its the Chicago stunning view.
Maple and Ash: If you want to go out to a trendy restaurant, Maple and Ash its your place. Its beautifully decorated, the music is loud, bar is full of people talking and having a good time, food is good, and most importantly you need to reserve in advance.
North pond: I loved, loved, loved North Pond…its hidden within the grounds of Lincoln Park, at the edge of a pond overlooking the Chicago skyline. Just the romantic walk to the restaurant at night its worth it.
The menu draws inspiration from the local market and the chef uses ingredients of the season supporting local farmers… ‘the path from earth to plate remains clear and his cuisine reflects the decor of the dining room – complex layers of subtle craft beneath a simple decorative style”.
Gibsons Italia: Gibsons Italia is a modern steakhouse with a beautiful view to the city, featuring a world-class tour of beef and authentic Italian pastas and risottos.
My not so Fav…so far:
Mad social : Too loud and food not that great
Bar Sienna : too loud and food x
Forno Rosso: pizza is nothing special to be honest
